"I had 2 beautiful kids."
Wow! My dog had puppies too.
What did you do in the last 10 years?
"I built a house"
Wow! Birds build nests too.
What have you done for the last 10 years that has any value for yourself or others? Contemplate in meditations & pujas. Don't do Dharma at your convenience. Think of others not yourself. Doing Dharma work is an open statement that you like helping others. If that's all you did in the last 10 years, you are gonna do that for the next 10 years too.
Your karma creates the causes. Don't say you will do Dharma when you have money. It's a cover for greed, fear, insecurity. Infuse spiritual thoughts into your kids minds. If you love your kids you'll give them Dharma. You'll be concerned for them when they grow up & you have passed away. If you don't practice & you push your kids to practice, they won't respect you. Give your kids the best gift, the mind of discernment.
Whatever you have now will be taken away by time, age, impermanence, death. Your body? It will degenerate no matter how disciplined you are. However comfy you are, it won't last. How many things have you lost in life already? It's the nature of existence according to Buddha. You are not evil. You just think your comfort zone will last forever. It won't. You're wrong.
